Cable Grommets Buying Guide
A desk cable grommet provides a controlled opening for routing cables through the tabletop. Choose it around the cable bundle, the space below the desk and the installation requirements. OFIX Furniture’s cable grommet collection in Bangladesh offers a flip-top option for desks and meeting tables.
Compare the listed options
The Dual Flip-Top Cable Grommet lists an aluminium-alloy construction and overall dimensions of 300 × 145 × 115 mm (length × depth × height). Its two opening covers provide access to the cable area. These are external dimensions; obtain the separate cutout and fitting details before modifying a tabletop.
What to check before buying
- Measure the available top area and the underside space, including drawers, frame rails and supports. Confirm the panel thickness and how the grommet will be retained.
- Plan which plugs and cables need to pass through the opening. Consider connector size as well as cable thickness, and keep access practical after the desk is in use.
- Request a dimensioned installation drawing and check any existing opening against it. Avoid treating the product’s exterior length and width as a ready-to-use cutting template.
A grommet can work with a tray beneath the desk to organise the rest of the cable route. If you need electrical outlets or data connections at the tabletop, compare a specified power-management unit instead. Keep the access cover, cable tray and powered connections as separate items in your quotation unless the package explicitly includes them.
